Rebate Fulfillment Infrastructure
Companies that specialize in Rebate Fulfillment require the same infrastructure as required for Product Fulfillment or Order Fulfillment. The reason for this is that rebate programs do not always offer a return check discount. It is not uncommon for a company to offer some form of prize or premium item instead as the incentive for the rebate. In this scenario all of the four key elements of the typical Fulfillment infrastructure are required: a warehouse for the secure storage of the prize items, an inventory control system to track the items for the Client Company, staff and equipment to pick and pack the items, and finally a means to ship the item to the customer. In addition to this fundamental Fulfillment infrastructure there is one extra step involved with Rebate Fulfillment and that is the qualification review of each of the rebate submissions. Not every rebate offer is the same; each rebate offer has its own set of rules regarding the validity of a rebate entry. Consequently each rebate entry must undergo a stringent review process, whereby it is deemed as either being qualified or unqualified. Almost without exception, every rebate company offers some means of rebate tracking, the most convenient being via the internet, where customers can check the status of their rebate entry. After undergoing this review process, if a rebate entry is determined as being qualified, the rebate incentive, being either a check, prize or premium item is sent to the customer. If however, a rebate entry is determined as being unqualified, the customer is informed of the fact and also the reason for its disqualification.
